KLM is leaving Malpensa airport and transferring all its flights to Milan Linate.
Fast underground services to downtown MilanWith the start of the summer season, from 30th March, the Dutch airline is leaving Milan’s Malpensa airport This decision is favoured by the ITAAirways-Lufthansa merger, allowing KLM to benefit from the slots left free by ITA. The move to the Milanese Linate city airport also allows arriving passengers to use the convenient connection to the city centre offered by the underground network, reaching Milan in a few minutes.
More slots mean more flights
There will be a total of five flights a day from Amsterdam to Linate and vice versa: four KLM flights operated with 737-800s and one with an ERJ-190 of the regional company Cityhopper. From Linate, departures will be at 6.40, 11.00, 13.00, 16.50 and 19.40. The Franco-Dutch group has in fact received two additional pairs of slots at the Linate Forlanini airport: one is used by KLM and the other by Air France, which will maintain its presence at both Malpensa and Linate. This will increase the number of flights from 9 to 10 daily between Milan and its Paris Charles De Gaulle hub, thanks to the addition of a daily flight from Linate.
