A meditation hiking trail
One of the most fascinating routes in the area is the “Path of Faith,” a circular trail of some five kilometres that combines hiking and meditation. The trail starts at the Sessellift Restaurant and takes visitors through six stages, each station featuring art installations and symbols that invite you to slow down and experience the mountains more mindfully. Along the route, you will also come across the ancient little church of San Vigilio, a place of contemplation immersed in the tranquillity of the Alpine landscape.
A new viewing platform
Among the most interesting new features on Monte San Vigilio is the new viewing platform built at the Apertura station of the Sentiero della Fede. Completed in the autumn of 2025, this new panoramic viewpoint also guides the gaze towards some of South Tyrol’s most iconic peaks, including the Ifinger, Hirzer, Sassolungo and Corno Bianco, transforming the contemplation of the landscape into an even more immersive experience.
The town is famous for its springs
But the symbolic element of Mount San Vigilio is water, the famous "blue gold" of South Tyrol. The springs that feed Merano Mineral Water originate right here, filtering slowly through granite and gneiss rocks. Pure, light and rich in beneficial properties, this water is also used at the Merano Thermal Baths for inhalation treatments and therapeutic radon baths, known for their positive effects on joints and circulation.
