All Nippon Airways' long-awaited debut at Milan Malpensa with direct Haneda-Malpensa flights is scheduled for 3 December
Italy is the fourth largest market for Japan
Initially the operations will be for three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with a 215-seat Boeing 787-9 (48 Business, 21 Premium Economy and 146 Economy). The announcement of the long-awaited direct connection comes at a time when the popularity of Japan is very high. Italy is the fourth largest market in Europe in terms of the number of visitors to Japan, with 152,400 arrivals in 2023. And from January to May 2024, 81,100 Italians have already chosen Japan, an increase of 65.1% over the same period last year, while Japanese travellers have resumed travelling to Italy, so the direct flight will facilitate inbound flows.

Tokyo Haneda is important for business and leisure travel
