Wizz Air’s two new routes to Rome Fiumicino are from Bilbao, starting 30 March, and Zaragoza on 1 April.
Bringing Zaragoza resident to Rome’s Jubilee
The flights from Bilbao will be operated four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while Zaragoza will be served three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. All flights will be operated with Airbus A321neo aircraft. Wizz Air will be the only airline connecting Fiumicino with Zaragoza which is a well-known pilgrimage destination, thanks to the Baroque Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar. And during this Jubilee year, this route offers a unique opportunity for residents of the region to reach Rome.
Wizz Air operates 60 routes from Rome
“With these two new routes we further strengthen the connections between Spain and Italy,- said Tamara Nikiforova, senior communications manager of the Hungarian low-cost airline. -Moreover, we are thrilled to be the first company to operate between Rome and Zaragoza. With a total of over 60 routes from Rome. Fiumicino is one of our largest bases in Italy and, with Jubilee 2025 underway, we wanted to offer our passengers new travel options at affordable prices.”
Spain is Rome’s first international market
“These flights will further stimulate flows to and from Spain, the first international market for Rome, which last year set a new record of almost 6 million passengers, a 20% growth over 2023,” said Federico Scriboni, director Aviation Business Development at Aeroporti di Roma.
