Climbers are invited to attempt the Marche’s Furlo Crag with Alpine guides on 20 September.
Hiking and climbing in the Marche region
The Marche Region promotes mountain tourism and the dissemination of a culture of safety in the mountains, and an operational agreement is in place with the regional College of Alpine Guides, which provides for various hiking and climbing activities. The aim being to spread the techniques and good practices of mountain climbing in order to experience the mountains with awareness.
The challenge is the Falesia del Furlo crag
On 20 September the Marche Region's alpine guides invite would-be climbers to experience the thrill of rock climbing on a day dedicated to beginners. The challenge is the Falesia del Furlo crag, one of the most evocative places in the Marche region, and probably the first real climbing gym in the Pesaro area. Located in the Furlo Gorge State Natural Reserve, it attracts many climbers who will find several places with refreshments, as well as its historical and cultural attractions such as Acqualagna, the Apennine capital of truffles.
Climbers should come equipped
The difficulty of the 20 September climbing routes on the Furlo Crag will be adapted to the athletic level of the participants, and the total height difference is 100 metres The individual equipment required is: hiking or approach footwear, long trousers, a fleece or jumper and a windproof, waterproof and breathable jacket. The backpack (minimum volume 15 litres), should contain at least two litres of water, headgear and food in quantities based on personal needs such as snacks, sandwiches, fruit etc.
Participation in the Falesia del Furlo climb is free
The equipment provided by the mountain guides consists of a mountaineering helmet, and climbing harness, although participants can bring your own helmet and harness as long as they are in good condition and comply with current regulations. Minors from the age of 14 can also participate, provided they are accompanied by a parent. The activity will be conducted by one or more professionals from the Collegio Guide Alpine delle Marche professional Alpine guides who are duly registered and have a professional liability insurance policy. Participation in the Furlo Crag climb is free of charge.
