Pedalaria is a new cycle path linking Leonardo da Vinci airport to the town of Fiumicino.

The new cycle path is just over 2 miles long

The new path for pedestrians and cyclists is part of the Dpcm Giubileo 2025 projects and is entirely financed by Aeroporti di Roma which has invested €1.8 million in the project, The path starts from Rome's main airport, is just over two miles long,  and joins the existing cycle path in the airport town on the Viale del Lago di Traiano avenue. The new cycle path is a collaboration between ADR and the municipal administration led by Mayor Mario Baccini. “Pedalaria will offer passengers, airport workers and the citizens of Fiumicino the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience in areas of great natural beauty and archaeological interest, including the Ports of Claudius and Trajan which are close to the airport.”

Innovative materials and Mediterranean plants

This is the most recent sustainability project from ADR, with the green footprint guaranteed by several factors, such as the use of innovative draining materials that minimize environmental impact, drainage channels for water management as well as the installation of Mediterranean plants from all five continents along the last stretch of the route towards Terminal 3.  “With the realization of Pedalaria we elevate our commitment to the promotion of a soft, sustainable and functional  form of mobility for thousands of passengers and citizens, as well as for the many workers living near the airport,- said Marco Troncone, CEO of ADR. -This new path is a further demonstration of our commitment to invest in the sustainable development of our 5-star airport, for the benefit of the environment, the people living near our airport and the territory that hosts us.”

Fiumicino airport has 50,000 employees

“Pedalaria is a spectacular and truly extraordinary project, - said Roberto Gualtieri, extraordinary commissioner for the Jubilee 2025 and mayor of Rome. -Connecting the city of Fiumicino to the airport, it takes in such extraordinary sites as the imperial Ports of Claudius and Trajan. It has both a tourist function and a sustainable mobility function for passengers and the many workers who will be able to travel to work comfortably, safely and sustainably in this great “city” of 50,000 employees. Many of them come from Fiumicino, and allowing them to travel by bicycle is very important environmentally.”

The art of mosaics features in a series of itineraries in Italy from Elesta Travelling Passion.

Visiting mosaic artists in their workshops

These itineraries lead to the discovery of masterpieces, both ancient and contemporary, and offer participants encounters with artists in their studios, at kilns and in the historic workshops of skilled glassmakers where the precious coloured tesserae for the mosaics are created.

Entry to hidden or normally inaccessible places

Three of these itineraries designed around mosaics are particularly appealing: Mosaic Cities in Northern Italy, Contemporary Mosaics in Central Italy and The Wonders of Ancient Mosaics in Southern Italy. Each itinerary can be customized according to the needs and curiosity of the participants, guided by Elesta's inspirations and suggestions for programmes packed with interesting encounters which privilege hidden or normally inaccessible places and less beaten paths.

Workshops in mosaic schools in Ravenna

These journeys of discovery into the wonders of mosaics will be crowned by participating in workshops in historic schools, like in Ravenna, which is the undisputed capital of the mosaic art thanks to its monuments: from the Basilica of San Vitale to the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, and from the Basilica of S. Apollinare Nuovo to that of  S. Apollinare in Classe.

Terme di Sirmione on Lake Garda has launched four new brands and a change of image.

Scientifically-proven products

With the payoff “Science of Thermalism” and by including its distinctive chemical element in the graphics, the Lake Garda complex aims to express the company's most important value: sulphur in the form of hydrogen sulphide. “In a market where the name spa is often inflated and misused, - says Margherita De Angeli, general manager of Terme di Sirmione, - the “Science of Thermalism” is an expression of the investment in medical-scientific research and the development of products based on water and rich in hydrogen sulphide, whose effectiveness is scientifically proven.”

More than 13 specializations

With more than 13 health specializations and multiple specialist packages, Terme Virgilio thus becomes Terme di Sirmione - Therapy District: a place where people's health care is coordinated by a scientific committee and a team of medical specialists. This is the context for a programme to recover and disseminate thermal culture for doctors and pharmacists through a free training course of five Ecm and eight scientific dinners, as well as the creation on the new site of an interactive area reserved for the medical class. Aquaria, with 200 thousand admissions a year, will thus become Terme di Sirmione - Spa & Thermal Garden. This will allow it to better representing the strength of the elements that determine its essence today and tomorrow with a development plan to redefine the concept of wellness and self-care aimed at preventing stress and anxiety, improving breathing, strengthening the immune system, and rebalancing body and mind.

Ample accommodation and a new cosmetics line

The value of the four accommodation facilities (the Grand Hotel Terme Sirmione, the Sirmione Terme, the Acquaviva del Garda and the Fonte Boiola) which are not only in beautiful locations, but can also boast integrated health and spa wellness programmes, are condensed in the new Terme di Sirmione - Wellness Hotels brand. The new Terme di Sirmione - Cosmetics Institute is a cosmetic line entirely reformulated to combine exclusive patented active ingredients with thermal water.
