A commitment to cultural and nature themes

Vittorio Modena, CEO of The Milano Scala, founded in 2010 with the aim of being Milan’s first zero-emission property, highlights the hotel's commitment to cultural and natural themes, and “its proximity to La Scala influencing its ambiance with opera music.”

Raising awareness of the hotel’s sustainable projects

Milano Scala's dedication extends to the city, where it backs the municipality's efforts to safeguard trees damaged by the July 2023 storm. Elena Grandi, councillor for the environment of the municipality of Milan, applauds Milano Scala's virtuous example of sustainability, and its choice to contribute to the “Milan for Trees” fundraiser. “It will be a real advantage if the hotel's projects become viral and raise awareness in the hotel and catering sector, also with a view to the Olympics.”

"21 House of Stories stems from the conviction that hybrid hospitality is able to contaminate in a positive way, through values such as sociality, creativity and innovation, - says managing director Nicola Accurso.  – We opened three years ago in Città Studi in Milan, and our aim is to fully embody our idea of the Italian lifestyle. 21 House of Stories offers hybrid hospitality where, alongside the hotel visitors meet locals, share coworking spaces, participate in events and enjoy the hotel premises.”

Spaces for public and private events

The 21 House of Stories hotel has 104 rooms divided into four types with colourful furnishings, beds that can be lofted or are retractable, a fitness area hidden by the woodwork, and a room that can turn into an event space. The extensive entrance to the hotel can be transformed to host public and private events, becoming an evening venue overlooking the Navigli and the district’s nightlife. The hotel has gardens, secret terraces and the I Mirador sky-bar and restaurant with large panoramic terraces, while the Domenica is a bistrot inspired by the atmosphere of Italian Sunday family lunches and has a special drinks list.

“We work with travel agencies and tour operators”

"In addition to the hotel and restaurant, the other fundamental part of our hybrid hospitality is linked to events. We rent the space to clients, and we ourselves create events open to the public; our stage overlooking the Darsena hosts concerts and talks. We work with both travel agencies and tour operators and consider their role a very important one. With them we have a different distribution approach; on online, without fixed rates and with the aim of providing value.”

Palladio’s villas are protected by UNESCO

Valpolicella is renowned worldwide for its wine production and picturesque green hills. It is the region where the architect Andrea Palladio constructed some of his magnificent villas in the mid-16th century, which have been recognized as part of UNESCO's heritage since the mid-1990s. One of Palladio's villa designs, which now houses Ludwig House, is nested in the Hills of Valpolicella in San Pietro in Cariano, just a 20-minute drive from Verona.
