An exhibition with competitions

Until 2 August the heart of the Aosta Valley comes alive with exhibitions, fairs, workshops, music, traditional crafts and international events. The Summer Aosta Valley Craftsmanship Fair will transform the historic centre into a grand stage where Alpine craftsmanship showcases the identity of an authentic and welcoming region

The culture of Alpine communities

At the heart of the event is Piazza Chanoux, which to 26 July will host the 73rd Aosta Valley Craft Exhibition and Competition. The 2026 edition, organized according to the new craft classification system, takes as its theme “Scenes from Life in an Aosta Valley Mountain Village,” which is an evocative journey through the memories and culture of Alpine communities. The stars of the show are the master craftspeople who, through woodcarving, woodturning, leatherwork, wrought iron and weaving, bring to life a heritage of knowledge passed down from generation to generation.

Concerts and local crafts

Summer evenings come alive thanks to the Foire Festival, which, every day from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm, features concerts by Aosta Valley choirs alternating with cultural events and presentations dedicated to local traditions. From 30 July to 2 August, the programme really gets underway with the opening of the Atelier des Métiers, a space dedicated to local craftspeople and an opportunity to exchange experiences and techniques from various Alpine and European regions.

A craft fair on 1 August

The most eagerly awaited moment will be on 1 August with the 57th Foire d’été, the historic Aosta Valley craft fair which attracts hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors every year. The streets of the town centre fill with stalls where visitors can buy unique handmade items, meet the artisans and watch demonstrations of traditional craft techniques.
