Mountain trails for walkers and cyclists

Walking enthusiasts will find 500 kms of hiking routes and four via ferrata old railway lines to explore in the Val d’Ega: a world studded with mountain huts and high-altitude refuges. Sinuous trails and mountain passes, valley descents and climbs that challenge even the smoothest pedalling, are a huge draw for both mountain bike fans and those who prefer the softer approach of the e-bike.

A green destination par excellence

From the first rays of spring to the last of the autumn leaves, the Val d'Ega provides specialized facilities and comprehensive support to cyclists, including rentals, schools, MTB guides, bike hotels, guided MTB tours, bike parks, and bike routes. Among the many advantages of the Val d'Ega, a green destination par excellence that strives to reduce the environmental impact of tourism, is the ability to forget about the car entirely with the Guest Pass which allows free and unlimited use of public transport throughout South Tyrol for seven days.

Rome’s metro stations are getting infomobility and powerbank-sharing totems thanks to the experimental partnership between ATAC, the city’s public transport company, and PowerPill.

There will be infomobility totems in all the city’s metro stations

The city’s public transport provider is currently completing the installation of 62 infomobility totems in all metro stations. Through this network of infomobility points in the foyers of each metro station ATAC will guarantee immediate and easy access in real time to information on the status of the metro service and how to use Rome’s public transport.

With Powerpill’s app passengers can rent a powerbank to recharge their phone

In addition, thanks to the collaboration with PowerPill, each totem will have a powerbank- sharing service. Through subscription to the PowerPill app passengers can rent a powerbank to recharge their mobile device and return it to any other point on the PowerPill circuit. Discounted rates are available for Metrebus Card subscribers.

Rental costs are €1 per hour and there are emergency charging cables

To use the powerbank rental offered by PowerPill, it is necessary to download the app and frame the QR code on the display of the infomobility totem with the camera. Rental costs are €1 per hour and €3 for 24 hours, while extended use beyond 120 hours (5 days) is also possible. If the mobile device is switched off because it is not charged there is a USB port with an emergency cable to allow the device to be temporarily charged in order to switch it on and start the rental procedure.

Genoa is the Italian Capital of the Book 2023; a unique opportunity for the city to become a benchmark in the Italian cultural landscape.

A cultural event with domestic and international reach

Promoting the reading and distribution of books also provides a unique opportunity to raise awareness of the city’s cultural heritage, with high-level exhibitions and events that will also be a major attraction for visitors.

“A fantastic job has been done not only in Italy but also internationally, - say regional president Giovanni Toti and Genoa’s mayor Marco Bucci, - and we are confident that this great achievement will bring even more prestige to the Ligurian capital on a cultural level, and also impact on tourism.”

Bergamo and Brescia, the Capital of Culture 2023, are Italy’s hidden treasures.

“A new awareness for Bergamo and Brescia”

“Both Brescia and Bergamo had to overcome many recent difficulties including the pandemic, but we have now been able to build up new awareness for our destination. This took concrete form in the choice of Brescia and Bergamo as Capital of Culture 2023," said Manuel Gabriele, director of Visit Brescia, speaking at the ITB in Berlin.

Unique cultural and artistic hidden treasures

"The project does not end in 2023 but will progress over time on four levels. The first promotes a city of unique artistic and cultural hidden treasures. Then there is the new way of thinking about the two cities, thanks to the green landscaping trail between Bergamo and Brescia. And we have the Inventing City and the Cultural City. In the first case we are talking about innovation, and when it comes to culture the city is no longer designed for the tourist, but for its citizens which of course makes it attractive also for tourists.”
