Aeromexico has officially opened ticket sales for the new route linking Mexico City to Milan Malpensa.
Aeromexico also operates from Mexico City to Rome Fiumicino
The airline is thus doubling its presence in Italy, where just three years ago it launched direct flights to Rome Fiumicino. The new Mexico City–Milan Malpensa route is scheduled to launch on 28 March 2027, with four weekly services: on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. In the opposite direction flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Mexico to Italy. Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be used on the route.Flights will depart from Mexico City late in the evening at 22:30 and, due to the time difference, will land in Italy at 18:20. In the opposite direction, there will also be an evening flight departing from Milan Malpensa at 23:05 and arriving in Mexico at 04:30.
Seven destinations and 10 routes to Europe
With the addition of Milan, the airline will offer a total of seven destinations and 10 routes to Europe: “We are very excited to add Milan to our international network, a destination that will enable us to strengthen cultural, commercial and business ties between Mexico and Italy. This route will make us the only Mexican airline to offer a direct service between Mexico City and two of Italy’s most iconic destinations, creating greater opportunities to meet the growing demand from both business and leisure travellers,” said Giancarlo Mulinelli, Aeromexico’s senior vice-president of global sales. Italy currently ranks 13th among the countries of origin for tourist flows to Mexico, with over 118,000 visitors recorded in the last year and an increase of 13.7 per cent.
