Diverse facets of the city and a stroll along the Tiber
The MAXXI Museum, Parco della Musica Auditorium, Borghese Gallery, National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Bioparco Zoo Museum are iconic cultural destinations. And they mark the key stops of the innovative Hop On-Hop Off panoramic sightseeing bus route named Explore Museums and launched by Green Line Tours. “It is an astonishing itinerary unveiling the diverse facets of the city’s ancient art, contemporary architecture and avant-garde design,” says Emanuele Orlando Desideri, CEO of Green Line Tours. “With the exceptional hop-on-hop-off concept, you can tailor your exploration to Rome's great museums. Depending on your cultural inclinations and time availability, you can visit monuments, ancient Roman ruins, modern neighbourhoods, or take a leisurely stroll by the Tiber.”

Crossing the heart of the city, the bus makes 15 stops
The Explore Museums line spans 15 distinctive stops and is accessible by purchasing day tickets, customisable based on the preferred duration. The route crosses the heart of the city, encompassing renowned landmarks such as the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, and Castel Sant'Angelo. It skirts the elegant expanse of the Villa Borghese Park before heading southwards, unveiling the vibrant districts of Testaccio, Garbatella, and Ostiense—areas steeped in tradition and local flavour.
Exploring Rome’s great art heritage
Tailored stops are provided for the city's foremost artistic treasures: the Borghese Gallery, the National Etruscan Museum at Villa Giulia, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GNAM), and the Maxxi Museum. Additional stops include the Parco della Musica Auditorium, while the youngest visitors are treated to a special stop for a visit to the Rome Zoo. Enhancing the Explore Museums experience is an on-board guide available in 16 languages, presenting the city's history through prerecorded commentary.

A fascinating blend of culture and cuisine
This new tour complements Green Line Tours' existing three itineraries: Discover Rome and Destination Eataly, which beautifully intertwine culture and cuisine, and the enchanting Rome By Night sunset tour. This network of three integrated routes currently constitutes a unique offering in Rome. Furthermore, the recently introduced Visit Civitavecchia establishes a link between the capital and this historically significant port of the Empire, home to vital archaeological sites, parks and spas. For information: www.greenlinetours.com.
There is also the option to book an overnight train on the route which is perfect for travelers who do not plan a stopover in Naples and want to arrive in Sicily early in the morning. All itineraries come from Greenpearls which specializes in green and eco-friendly travel.
Stopping in Naples and Sorrento
Of course a visit to Naples, the city under Mount Vesuvius is always worthwhile. Visitors can also visit the famous archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum by regional train. The train network reaches as far as Sorrento on the Mediterranean coast, and a loop around Mount Vesuvius is also possible by train.
A historic train around Mount Etna
Once in Sicily traveling by train becomes more complicated. There are only a few rail lines and many places are not even connected to the network. But for those who don't want to miss out on a rail-tripping adventure at the very end, the Ferrovia Circumetnea is not to be missed. This historic narrow-gauge railroad takes travelers on a tour through vineyards and lava fields around Mount Etna, and the numerous stops in the towns around the volcano invite further exploration.

A success due largely to the Group’s resorts operations
This success was attributed largely to the substantial recovery in the resort operations segment, particularly in hotel management. Notably, resort occupancy rates returned to 2019 levels, accompanied by a significant increase in average pricing. For instance, the Lefay Lago di Garda rate experienced a surge of over 50% compared to 2019. Additionally, the group achieved excellent results in the residential sales segment, finalising the sale of the last five real estate units for a total value of €8.836 million. The consolidated turnover of €46 million was a remarkable 37% increase over the previous year.
All CO2 emissions fully offset
In terms of environmental commitments all the company's entities upheld their carbon-neutral status for 2022, having fully offset all CO2 emissions. The group's properties, certified by Green Globe, derive 100% of their energy from clean sources. They achieve the self-production of 100% thermal energy and 25% of electricity. In a bid to enhance sustainability, three new photovoltaic systems have been installed contributing to a reduction of 75,000 kg of CO2 emissions annually. The initiative to gradually eliminate the use of single-use plastic in the resorts is also highlighted.
The first international contract in October
A significant milestone in October 2022 was the signing of the group's first management contract abroad, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. This development marked a significant step in exporting the Lefay brand to a prestigious mountain destination and further elevating its international reputation.
“I am very proud of the results and of our entire team,- said CEO, Alcide Leali. – 2022 was a record year for our group, but we are aware that the achievement of an objective does not represent an arrival but a standpoint from which to identify new economic and sustainable goals.”

As well as La Roqqa, affiliated with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, there are also two recently redeveloped beach clubs in Porto Ercole, the Isolotto Beach Club and the Riva del Marchese.
Traditional Tuscany cuisine the Scirocco restaurant
Both the public areas and the 55 rooms and suites feature soft colours and lines, with sunlight and marine colours entering from the large terraces and artfully set internal lighting. The interior mixes custom-made furnishings with iconic pieces of Italian 60s and 70s design. The Scirocco restaurant, with traditional Tuscan cuisine and its creative reinterpretations, is led by executive chef Francesco Ferretti. There is also a cocktail bar under head mixologist Giorgio Ferrarese and supervised by Andrea Notaro.
“Film tourism has been added to the usual demand”
“Now film tourism has been added to the usual demand, not only from European countries and Italy, but also from the Americas. Our guests can experience the magic of the timeless Little Mermaid fairy tale through a programme of activities in our resorts closest to the locations featured in the film", said Lì Montini of Delphina Hotels & Resorts.
Sardinia is the location for Walt Disney’s latest blockbuster
The coast between Capo Testa and Castelsardo, with its variety of landscapes and wild charm, is the backdrop for the new live action Little Mermaid, Walt Disney film. “The water is the bluest, the rocks are the most beautiful I have ever seen. We found Sardinia in our dreams even before we got there,” said John Myhre, screenwriter of the blockbuster film.
