Nobu Hospitality is coming to Italy. The brand founded by the Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper will open its first Italian property in the capital next summer. The Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Rome is in partnership with Carlo Acampora, Chairman and CEO of the Grand Hotel Via Veneto.

A Nobu Restaurant and a 500-square-metre Nobu Suite

Strategically located in the heart of the Eternal City, the hotel in two 19th-century buildings will have 122 rooms and suites, including a Nobu suite on 500 square meters. The rebranding will also include a green rooftop and large areas for private and corporate events, a spa and a fitness center, a club lounge and of course a Nobu restaurant, the first in Rome, and with 24-hour room service.

“We are honoured to he part of the Eternal City”

"I love Japan and its extraordinary culture of hospitality - comments Acampora - and I am therefore delighted to have opened the doors of the Eternal City to the first Nobu Hotel in Italy.”  Matsuhisa, De Niro and Teper add that Rome is the world capital of gastronomy and so the perfect location for their brand. “We are very happy to work with Carlo Acampora on this extraordinary project and to bring Nobu’s famous cuisine and hospitality to Rome. Rome is an extraordinary mix of culture, arts, fashion and historic architecture, and we are honoured to be part of the Eternal City with this exciting opening!".

For those struggling to surrender to the changing season with its cold and fog, there is only one way to overcome the seasonal trauma. And it is to dive into the waters of Acquaworld and relive the summer’s warmth. Acquaworld is Italy’s only indoor amusement and wellness park and helps to break up the long winter months. It is also an ideal place to celebrate a birthday or an anniversary.

In Acquaworld it is always summer

Opened in 2011, Acquaworld is a unique 20,000-square-metre water and wellness park with indoor and outdoor areas, nine water slides, swimming pools and whirlpools with constant hot water and, in summer, a large garden with deck chairs, sunbeds and umbrellas. However, at Acquaworld it is always summer: all the pools, even those that go from the inside to the outside area, are heated to 33 degrees, while the indoor air temperature never falls below 30 degrees. Acquaworld is truly a paradise of fun and relaxation for the whole family.

Furthermore, in addition to the women's and men's changing rooms, the park has just opened the family changing room, to offer families the opportunity to change and share a common space.

Entry with green passes or an exemption certificate

The park welcomes visitors in total safety and compliance with all Covid regulations: reduced daily entries, temperature checks at the entrance, regular sanitation points and frequent sanitation of all areas. These are just some of the many measures introduced to guarantee the utmost safety for visitors. Furthermore, in accordance with Law Decree No. 105 of 23/07/2021, a Green Pass or an exemption certificate is required to access the park.

Palazzo Imperiale di Genova (1560) is not only an ideal venue for events but also a hub where the city’s history meets its spectacular food and wine traditions,  "It is one of the most prestigious buildings in the city - underlines Raoul Bollani, head of the Saloni delle Feste Palazzo Imperiale – and one of the few that is still as it was in renaissance days. It is part of the Palazzi dei Rolli aristocratic abodes that in the 16th and 17th centuries hosted European kings and ambassadors who came to Genoa for official visits with the Doge.”

Events in collaboration with cruise lines

In 2000 Bollani renovated the building and today Palazzo Imperiale, in the historic center and close to the port, hosts events, receptions, weddings, business meetings and workshops and works with major cruise lines and Creattivando Art & Food.

Working with agencies, tour operators and tour guides

"Raoul Bollani is the soul of Palazzo Imperiale - say Cristina Robello and Mario Clavarino of Creattivando - we promote the area together.  Before Covid we were doing around a thousand experiences a year - adds Robello – mostly for international visitors but in recent times we have worked a lot with Italians, both individuals and incentive groups through agencies, tour operators and tour guides.”

Genoese specialties from Pesto to Anchovy Pies

Creattivando’s events include introductory experiences featuring Genoa’s famous Pesto basil sauce as well as other typical local dishes like Cappon Magro Seafood Salad, Pansotti Italian Riviera Ravioli and Anchovy Pies.

Culminating in its opening on 17t May, the Grande Bailo Museum will have doubled exhibition space, new areas for temporary exhibitions, services and depots. Transforming the 19th-century Municipal Museum into the new Bailo has called for an investment of over €8 million, and the months leading up to its opening will be marked by a succession of important exhibitions.

Important paintings on loan

The first event is the arrival at the Santa Caterina Civic Museum of a distinguished painting from the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna: the famous portrait of Doge Erizzo, a masterpiece by Bernardo Strozzi (19 November 2021 - 13 February 2022). Meanwhile, in the rooms of the Bailo and in the Pinacoteca Alberto Martini in Oderzo, from 18 December to 27 March 2022, you can admire the exhibition Treviso Journey Dantesco a more than dutiful homage to the poet by a city that welcomed many Florentine exiles, including Dante’s son Pietro.

From Canova to Treviso’s Paris Bordon and Gino Rossi

From 25 March The 19th-centry revealed: from Canova to historic romanticism” exhibition will feature important works by Canova and the best of the 19th-century art collection from the Civic Museums including works that  have rarely been exhibited before. Meanwhile, at the Santa Caterina, from 27 February to 26 June, you can admire the grandiose exhibition of the works of Treviso-born Paris Bordon with paintings on loan from the most important European museums. And an original Homage to Gino Rossi will present for the first time, alongside his paintings many never-before-exhibited drawings by this other Treviso artist.

A worthwhile investment with public and private support

The inauguration of the Grande Bailo on 17 May will be a highlight for a city that has invested in art and culture with the backing of the city council, the state and private donors. All this in a city of fewer than 85,000 inhabitants, and an investment in culture as a lifeline both for the social growth of the area and a major tourist attraction.
