Located a few kilometers from Bolzano in Doladizza-Montagna, the new Manna Resort has just opened its doors. This 5-star has 15 suites and three private chalets which were part of a former sawmill that has been designed in harmony with the surrounding landscape, using copper, brass, wood and local stone for a low environmental impact.

Manna Medical is the resort’s flagship facility
The main building, which has grassy roofs blending in with the lawns, is spread over several floors. The ground floor lobby has a large reception desk, a walnut ceiling, an original totem bookcase, some of the suites, the restaurant with its terrace, the bar, a gourmet space and a reading room. There are more suites on the first floor and the second has a multipurpose room for business meetings, yoga or meditation sessions. The fitness center has mountain views and the black and gold spa, with panoramic saunas, specializes in herbal teas. From here, a short walk through the woods brings you to Manna Medical, one of the resort’s flagship facilities which has a swimming pool, a bio-pool and three exclusive chalets for absolute privacy.

Three chalets with private saunas and terraces
Manna Resort is a true oasis far from the noise and stress of everyday life, and is the brainchild of owner Maria Luisa Manna and her love for Thailand, its culture, its food and its age-old wellness rituals and traditions. Africa, Japan, Russia, Arabia, Lapland, France, Sweden… these are just some of the names of the 15 suites and junior suites in the new resort. On from 35 to 43 square meters they all have private saunas and terraces, they also have large windows looking out on the Alps and the Adige valley. The three chalets, with private saunas and elegant interiors, range from 53 to 74 square meters. Two are in front of some porphyry rocks and have private access to the bio-pool, and the third is set above the rocks and surrounded by Mediterranean and partly Alpine flora.
Although Ticino is known for its lakeside Mediterranean winters, it also offers the opportunity to enjoy nature in the stunning snow-capped mountains. Every year new hiking and snowshoeing trails await you. Monoski courses in Airolo extend the largest Ticino skiing district’s opportunities to those with disabilities. This special device allows for speed and mobility while also remaining compatible with ski lifts. Traditional dualskiing is also offered, both guided and unguided, accommodating all levels of autonomy.
New winter hiking trail to the Capanna Gorda
The new 6.23 km long winter hiking trail of the Bleno Valley, leads to the seasonal Gorda Cabin with an elevation change of roughly 600 metres. Tours set off from Camperio and go through an enchanting fir forest to the cabin, while overnight stays are available in the heated neighbouring building named GAIA.
Snowshoe tours and swings overlooking Nara
Nara is a sun-kissed, small, enchanting ski district in the Valle di Blenio. This winter Ticino’s winter sports offer will include a new 6-km snowshoeing circuit. The tour sets off by chairlift from Leontica to the station at Cancorì, where the new snowshoe route begins and ends.
Mono-skis and guides
Airolo is the largest skiing area in Ticino. The mono-ski, which is for people with limitations in the lower limbs, is the same as classic skiing, but those who prefer two skis can opt for dual skiing, with a guide or alone. And for the ascent they can use the chairlifts or the ski lifts. www.tirex.ch
