A total of 202 kilometres of cycle paths
In Rimini the sea meets the hinterland, and every day can become a different experience, whether on the beach, in nature or in the surrounding small towns and villages. This vision is further confirmed by the recent accolade received by the Parco del Mare at Velo-city 2026, the world’s leading conference dedicated to urban cycling. The European Cyclists’ Federation has, in fact, awarded Rimini the ECF Award – Cycling Infrastructure Award that recognizes projects that improve the quality of life through sustainable mobility. This accolade places the city alongside other European leaders in the field and rewards the major urban regeneration project on Rimini’s waterfront which has helped to extend the city’s cycle network to a total of 202 kilometres.
The beachfront is a continuous open-air area
The sea is the first point of contact with the city. Over 15 kilometres of beach, more than 250 beach lidos and extensive stretches of public beach offer a well-organized and accessible system, designed to welcome everyone. The seafront has been transformed it into a single, large, continuous open-air area with cycle and footpaths, green spaces, and areas dedicated to physical activities.
The hinterland is just as appealing
For those wishing to venture beyond the coast we find the Marecchia and Conca valleys with hills, vineyards, towns and villages that tell the story of the region. The Rimini hinterland is also home to castles, parish churches and some of Romagna’s most evocative views, and cycling remains one of the most popular ways to explore it. Thanks to bike hotels, dedicated facilities and numerous routes, you can cycle from the seafront to the hills along routes suitable for all levels, with the Valmarecchia among the most popular destinations for cycle tourists.
Guided tours and outdoor activities
Alongside these options a structured programme of excursions is also available on the official VisitRimini website, where you can find guided tours, nature trails and outdoor activities designed to hel discover the area. The Rimini Pass, a digital tool promoted by VisitRimini, also supports this approach to exploration, offering convenient access to experiences, itineraries and services across the city, the coast and the hinterland. The campaign “Rimini. 4 Seasons Collection. More than a city. More than a destination” complements this positioning with a narrative that reflects the destination’s contemporary spirit.

Emma Villas’ 2026 roadshow is coming to Sicily, with events in Catania and Palermo.
The average stay is 7.62 nights
Designed to bring together the owners of the properties in the company’s portfolio and potential new clients, the workshops will underscore Sicily for luxury holiday rentals. According to Emma Villas data, Sicily has seen a 6% increase in weeks booked for the 2026 season compared to 2025, as well as a 3% rise in the number of bookings. The average length of stay is also increasing, and currently stands at 7.62 nights, a sign that demand is increasingly focused on immersive experiences and longer stays. Emma Villas currently has 58 properties in its portfolio across the island.
"The island...meets the demand for experiential and quality tourism"
“The Sicilian stops on our roadshow confirm the island’s increasingly strategic role within our portfolio and, more generally, in the luxury holiday rental market, The figures we are recording reveal a clear shift in travel patterns, demonstrating that the island perfectly meets the demand for experiential and quality tourism,- says Giammarco Bisogno, founder and CEO of Emma Villas. - Despite international instability, demand is not stalling but is reorganizing itself as is shown by the extraordinary performance of the German market, as well as the growth, now almost double-digit, in Italian clientele. With this roadshow we wanted to strengthen the bond of trust with the owners of these properties. They, and the beauty of the region, are the true guardians of an authentic, safe and globally competitive accommodation offering.”
Germany is now the leading source market
Among foreign visitors to Sicily, Germany is now the leading source market, accounting for 74% of international visitors to the island, followed by the Netherlands (8%) and the United States (7%), the latter showing a decline compared to last year. This figure reflects a new balance in international tourism, with a growing focus on nearby destinations that are easily accessible, perceived as safe and that offer high standards of quality. At the same time, demand from Italian travellers is also strengthening: for the 2026 season, bookings by Italians show an increase of +9.5% over 2025, confirming the growing interest in villa holidays from the domestic market.

The first direct Holland-Italy night train
From the Netherlands to Milan, and vice versa, by train and without changing trains: this will be possible with European Sleeper, which is extending the new Milan-Switzerland-Cologne-Brussels night train with additional stops in Eindhoven, Breda and Antwerp, starting from the European timetable change in mid-December 2026. For the first time in many years, passengers will thus have a direct night train connection between the Netherlands and Italy. The new route extends the Milan service previously announced by European Sleeper, which is scheduled to launch on 9 September 2026 between Milan, Switzerland, Cologne and Brussels for which tickets are already on sale for travel up to 3 January 2027.
Stopping in Breda and Eindhoven
From 14 December 2026, the service will be extended to the Dutch cities of Breda and Eindhoven, creating a more direct and convenient night-time connection between Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Furthermore, Breda and Eindhoven are two strategic stops for reaching Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. In Switzerland, European Sleeper now plans for the train to stop at Aarau instead of Zurich. Aarau offers convenient connections to numerous destinations and is linked to Zurich by frequent Swiss domestic trains, with a journey time of around thirty minutes.
