“Salerno Wonders” will host a group of international buyers and journalists

Promoting the excellence of the local tourism industry on international markets “Salerno Wonders,” will be presented to international buyers and journalists on a 11-15 April tour.

The official presentation of the project was attended by Andrea Prete, president of Unioncamere and the Salerno Chamber of Commerce; Luca Cascone, president of the IV Council Commission - Town Planning, Public Works and Transport of the Campania Region; Nicola Romanelli, strategic consultant and founder of Travel Hashtag, Margherita Chiaramonte, Aviation Sales Department Commercial Aviation of Gesac SpA and Ugo Picarelli, sole administrator Leader srl.

Hosting international buyers and journalists 

From 11 to 15 of April, Salerno and its province will host 12 buyers and four international journalists on an itinerary promoted by the Salerno Chamber of Commerce, the aim being to strengthen the tourism competitiveness of the area. With B2B meetings, the event is planned to foster new collaborations and stimulate incoming tourism throughout the year to Salerno and its environs.

An itinerary through culture, tradition and innovation

Starting with the official welcome at Naples Airport, the participants, from London and Paris,  will visit the new Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport, which has been operational from July 2024, and is a strategic infrastructure for the growth of tourism in the entire province of Salerno. The group will then move on to Vietri sul Mare, known for its tradition in artistic ceramics, and to Paestum, where they will visit the Archaeological Park with its majestic Greek temples and the National Museum. 

Visiting museums and coastal towns

The next stop will take them along the coastline of the landing of the Allies in 1943, to the Cilento, with stops in Pioppi, the Living Museum of the Sea and the Ancel Keys Mediterranean Diet Ecomuseum, and then to Castellabate, a charming medieval village. In Salerno the group will explore the Gardens of Minerva and the Cathedral of San Matteo, followed by an excursion by boat to Cetara, a seaside village known for the production of anchovy sauce, and a visit to the marine caves of Palinuro and the medieval village of Camerota. 

The key role of the new Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport

The tour will end on Monday 14 April with the conference entitled “Salerno and its province prospects for tourism in foreign markets” followed by a B2B workshop reserved for local tour operators. "Tourism represents a fundamental lever for the economic growth of our area, - says the president of Unioncamere and the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno Andrea Prete. - With “Salerno Wonders” we want to offer buyers and international journalists a direct experience of our what we have to offer, and create the basis for new strategic collaborations. A key role in this perspective will be played by the Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport which opened to commercial flights in July 2024.  

Positioning Salerno and its province in the UK and France

The tour is part of a broader tourism promotional strategy aimed at consolidating tourist flows from the United Kingdom and France and strengthening the positioning of Salerno and its province in the panorama of destinations of excellence.
