With renovations at Palazzo al Velabro underway, the historic 18th-century Roman building not far from the Coliseum and the Roman Forum, will be managed by LHM and will reopen next summer as a Marriott Design Hotel. Once operational the property will have 27 spacious apartments with kitchens and six bedrooms, each one with its own particular style.
The old palazzo will offer guests a tailor-made welcome
The restyling of Palazzo al Velabro is the brainchild of Cristina Paini, Founder and CEO of LHM, and Alessia Garibaldi. While respecting the history and ambience of the old palazzo, every detail has been designed to offer guests a tailor-made welcome. "From the beginning we went in search of true artisan talent and the best of Made in Italy,” says architect Alessia Garibaldi.
A gym and a cinema
To keep guests entertained, there will be a small cinema that pays homage to the cinematographic traditions of Rome, and the property will also have a gym, food outlets and a large outdoor area open to the public.
Showcasing young artistic talents
“Making a dream come true is not always easy or immediate, but thanks to the vision and creativity of Garibaldi Architects, it has possible,” says Cristina Pani. “In Palazzo al Velabro we will have a lot of art and we will showcase young talents by giving them visibility through a series of special initiatives on which we are working.”
