The first Ricerca 12 hybrid hospitality model was 21 Way of Living which debuted in Milan’s Città Studi in 2020. The concept combines traditional and extended-stay hospitality services with the most advanced forms of co -living and co-working, the organization of events and a bistro open to the public. Ricerca 12, headed by Alessandro and Luciano Benetton with co-founder Aldo Giacin, is also looking further afield outside Italy.
A portfolio of 500 million in asset management
According to the Italian daily newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore in the medium term the company’s aim is to create an Italian portfolio for a total of 500 million in asset management, and there is also talk of a real estate fund to attract other institutional investors. At present the platform has committed about €50 million in equity for three distinct developments. In addition to 21Way of Living in Milan, another hybrid structure is scheduled to open in Milan’s Navigli district in 2023, as is a building in via Belfiore in Florence which is currently leased to the state but for which there are plans as a hospitality hub.
The 4-star Milan Navigli Hotel has 120 rooms and co-working spaces
At a later stage the company does not rule out expanding in the field of rental of properties under its hotel management format. The next scheduled inauguration is Milano Navigli, a 4-star hotel with 120 rooms, co-working spaces, kitchens on each floor, a gym, restaurant, bar, laundry, swimming pool and a sky-bar. This is to be followed by Florence and Venice, and the goal of 500 million assets under management should be reached in five to seven years when Research 12 does not exclude development on international markets.
