Discover Sicily in Autumn, a beautiful month for exploring Sicily with Le Isole d'Italia’s tours.

Walking and trekking tours to discover the best of Sicily

The Eastern Sicily Trekking Tour and the Borghi di Sicilia tour are the two autumn proposals from tour operator Le Isole d'Italia. And they are ideal for taking full advantage of the mild climate and not having to deal with summer crowds and mass tourism. The two packages explore much of the region and combine nature and culture. The more adventurous can visit the eastern part of Sicily, on breath-taking walking and trekking routes, while for travellers fascinated by Sicily’s history the itinerary in the western part of the island is also available,  allowing you to discover picturesque locations and enchanting villages.

Volcanos, gorges and seaside towns

Sicily Alcantara

With Le Isole d’Italia’s Eastern Sicily Trekking tour, travellers will be accompanied on different routes by expert volcanological guides. The highlights of the routes include: the Mount Etna volcano, the Alcantara Gorges, the naturalistic oasis of Vendicari in Siracusa, and the Cavagrande del Cassibile Reserve near Noto. It is also possible to visit the little seaside town of Marzamemi in Siracusa as well as its charming and historical little island of Ortigia.

Exploring the lesser-known western part of Sicily

Le Isole d’Italia also has the Borghi di Sicilia tour that focus on the most characteristic, but often lesser-known, towns of western Sicily. The itinerary starts in Palermo, with a visit to the Palazzo dei Normanni and to Monreale, known throughout the world for its cathedral. We then go on to discover Segesta, Borgo Parrini and Scopello, as well as the Mangiapane cave in Custonaci which is a prehistoric settlement. There will also be guided visits to the ancient Phoenician city of Mozia on the island of San Pantaleo and to Gibellina, a small town abandoned after the 1968 Belìce earthquake. Tastings in cellars and pastry shops in the region are also planned.
