The Dutch-Italian open-air holiday brand Vacanze col Cuore opened the doors of the new Trasimeno Glamping Resort this summer.

Continuing its expansion in Italy with its "horizontal hotellerie" model, its founder Loek Van de Loo talks about the new facility on the shores of Lake Trasimeno in Umbria.
"We have expanded in Umbria, in a green paradise directly overlooking the waters of Lake Trasimeno in the province of Perugia. As with our other resorts, this is a revitalization of an area that was already a campsite and to which I have been linked both professionally - when I was involved in tour operating - and emotionally because I have always loved this place."
A wide choice of camping facilities and F&B outlets
This was the ninth opening for the Group, which has its operational headquarters in Manerba del Garda (BS) and is a further step forward for Vacanze del Cuore which was founded in 2018. In a resort space of about 15 acres it consists of state-of-the-art mobile homes, safari tents, unique accommodation and pitches for campers and caravans, with direct access to the lake, beach and jetty. Numerous services are also available including a new restaurant-pizzeria, bar and ice cream parlour. There is also a water park, multi-language edutainment activities - the Group's trademark - and an electric mini jeep service to help children discover the natural area, as well as a bicycle rental service for leisure time. The resort also has a multi-purpose synthetic ground court, a five-a-side football pitch and a volleyball court (both on grass). Thanks to the orographic conformation of the site, two barrier-free living units have also been set up for guests with limited mobility. 
The resort is close to Assisi, Gubbio and Perugia
Designed according to the glamping philosophy, the Trasimeno Glamping Resort has been totally reorganized in terms of space by subtraction: each housing unit has a larger private surrounding area than the traditional campsite, thus guaranteeing privacy and tranquillity. The entire park is totally car-free and offers new open-air holiday experiences to around 1,000 guests at full load. The destination is in close geographical proximity to some of the most famous Italian art cities like Assisi, Gubbio and Perugia, which places it in a strategic position for a complete holiday combining nature, culture, art and food and wine.
